Computer-Aided Design for Mechanical Engineering Drawings
Computer-aided design (CAD) lets you use powerful software to design and customize parts with ease. Instantly adjust shapes and sizes, streamline your workflow, and cut time and costs when developing prototypes and new products. With CAD skills, you can turn ideas into precise designs faster—helping you stand out and advance in today’s fast-paced industries.
Competency
Earners are able to draft engineering drawings for part(s) of a basic mechanical engineering product.
How ?
Earners are able to draft 2D and 3D part(s) of a product using Computer-Aided Design (CAD).
Method overview
Using computer programs like AutoCAD or SOLIDWORKS for engineering machine parts
design involves six steps:
- Sketch geometric.
- Utilize commands to calculate component weights.
- Generate assembly drawings.
- Arrange views of the assembled parts.
- Include a bill of materials (BOM) table detailing material specifications.
- Use commands to produce manufacturing instructions.
How can you achieve ?
- Describe detail of Engineering Information according to the Drawing
- Sketch each Drawing
- Record video while creating the design, or work performance certificates.
